Podcast 07: Memories of an 8-dan Champ

In this episode, I would like to share my memories of the late Keisuke Murayama sensei, who won two (at least) of the 8-dan tournaments.

Also you can find an answer to how to integrate your body movements when striking.

The video version is available so if you want to check out some movements, this should help.

Thank you for listening!

Episode 6: Memories of 9-Dan Sensei

There was a scary looking old man that everyone paid the highest respect that they possibly paid. This person was the late Juichi Tsurumaru sensei who later passed his 9-dan exam. And 7 years after I saw him for the first time, he would show me whom I really was dealing with.

In this episode, I would like to share the memories of the late Juichi Tsurumaru sensei (9-dan).

Hope you will enjoy!

Episode 05: Meanings of 8-dan. What do you expect from them?

In this podcast, I would like to introduce an interview from Kendo Nippon Magazine. The legendary Edo sensei asking an 8-dan sensei about what it means to be 8-dan and what they are unexpected to do.

You cannot really see a 6-dan interviewing an 8-dan who is younger than the 6-dan. So the 6-dan sensei is asking questions that many people want to but cannot ask. Very interesting interview.

I hope you enjoy!

Episode 04: Competing with Kendo Attitude

Do you hear people say, “It’s not against the rules so it’s OK to do that”?

How do you want to win? How do you want to lose?

Fight with your dignity not by the rules.
